40) a runner practiced at a park near his home. his pedometter indicated that he ran 300 feet in 10 seconds….about how many minutes would it take him to complete the mile?

Answer: 300 ft
10 seconds
30ft/sec
5280 ft in a mile
5280/30 = 176 seconds
-10 already ran
=166 seconds
166/60 = 2.6 repeating
-2 = .6 rep.
*60 = 46
2 minutes, 46 seconds to finish
