Math Help Factoring

Question: Math Factoring Question?
I’ve been trying to do this for a while, but I can’t seem to get it.
What can be factored from x^2-1
The actual expression is:
“(x^2-4x-12) (x^2-1)”
————– * ———–
(x^2+2x) (x^2-5x-6)
and I need to factor that.
Though, in general it ends up factoring nicely, except for x^2-1.
Anyone who can just help me out, or actually factor that so I have something to check off of would be a great help!!
and will get bestanswer. o:
pleaseplease?
Answer: “(x^2-4x-12) (x^2-1)”
————– * ———–
(x^2+2x) (x^2-5x-6)
(x+2)(x-6) (x+1)(x-1)
————- * ————–
x(x+2) (x+1)(x-6)
(x+2)(x-6)(x+1)(x-1)
—————————-
x(x+2)(x+1)(x-6)
you cancel out (x+2)(x-6)(x+1)
x-1
——-
x
so the answer is x minus 1 over x
