The factorials are useful in a number of math areas such as probability. The factorial is useful when calculating permutations and combinations. The Binomial Coefficient video illustrates what factorials are used for by giving an example of how to use the factorial.
Although, the factorial function on its own may not have much use, when forming the binomial coefficient, the factorial function is very useful in probability and statistics.
