Math Help Integers
This section of Math Help online discusses integers. An integer is also called a signed number or directed number.
Definition of integers
Integers are numbers that may be expressed as the sum or difference of two natural numbers. Integers are members of the set { …, -3, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3, …}. Integers are usually denoted by:

What is a positive integer?
A positive integer is any whole, positive number such as 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, etc.
What is a negative integer?
A negative integer is any whole, negative number such as -1, -2, -3, -4, -5, etc.
Adding and Subtracting Integers
Integers can be added or subtracted. The resulting numbers of adding or subtracting integers are always integers. This is one of the key properties of integers.
More abstract property of integers
The integers are the closure of the natural numbers under subtraction, and are identified with the rational numbers with denominator 1.
Math Help Factoring Trinomials

Question: How do you factor trinomials? (MATH)?
I just found out that I’m having a midterm tomorrow and it’s not mulitply choice which really sucks cuz that could’ve helped me passed
for example, how do you factor this:
x^2+9x+8
please explain in detials and please make it simple cuz i’m really stupid when it comes to algebra!!!!!
Yeah not helping.
Answer: you have to go with trial and errors
first factor out 8 = 1+8, 2+4
then if the sign is +, you add the two factors until you find one that match the coeff of x.
in this case, 8+1 = 9, so
(x+8)(x+1)
if the eq was x^2 – 6x + 8 then 2+4 = 6
(x – 2)(x – 4)
if the sign is negative, then you subtracts 1-8=-7
like x^2 – 7x – 8 = (x-8)(x+1)

Question: How do you factor using a calculator?
Because im doing grade 10 math and i have to factor some equations and i have a test on that tommoro, plus i frogot how to factor, any help would be appreciaite it. Thanks=)
Answer: I think you need one of the very new calculators that can do Algebra. TI-84′s can’t do that, sorry.
