Math Homework For First Graders

Question: I am really really worried on what my future is?
Okay , first of all, i want to say im a 7th grader(in middle school)
I’m in advanced math , Algebra with the 8th graders.
My first question is : For me to be in geometry next year (still in middle school), do i have to pass algebra? What if I’ve been getting 90%-100% in the benchmarks but my grade in the CLASS is say… a D. Let me rephrase, will i be in geometry next year.
2nd question: What grade do you think i have? Okay i had a B- the last time i checked. I did all my homework but one of the quizzes i had a 58%. About what is my grade? Please and thank you . ( I know im a bit paranoid
)
Answer: To answer your first question, yes, you’ll have to pass algebra to get into geometry. If you have gotten a D in the class I’d say you should retake it. If you had a B- (about 80%) and have one quiz with a 58% (F), I’d say you probably have a low C or even a D (depending on the other test and quiz grades you have).
You should retake algebra next year instead of geometry. In high school you can double up in math if you feel like you can handle it. I doubled up my sophomore year in high school taking geometry and algebra II and I passed both classes with an A despite all of my teachers telling me not to. Everyone is different though and since you are in middle school still, I’d say retake algebra I again next year and if you feel like you learned more and understood the class better, you could double up your freshmen year or sophomore year.
