Math Help In Algebra

Question: im going to post questions that i need help with in math (algebra 1) will anyone help me?
i dont get some questions and im wondering if ill get helpo from anyone. and if some one gives me their email i can email them my questions and they can email me back with answers and a short explanation ( only if your willing to help)
Answer: That is an interesting approach but the problem with it is that the reason many of us (like me) are on Yahoo! answers is that we don’t want to step up to the level of commitment that you are looking for.
I, for example, will go for days without looking at the site and then I will randomly answer a dozen questions. If I happen to pick your question, that’s cool, but if you would have had any questions while I was off doing something else, there was no way I would want to be interrupted.
So the answer is, yes, I am willing to try to help, but not by email.

Question: f(x) and g(x) Math problems…Please help?
Consider the functions f(x)= the square root of x and g(x)=7x+b. In the standard (x,y) coordinate plane, y= f(g(x)) passes through (4,6). What is the value of b?
Any help plus if you can include the work for how you got to the answer, it would be appreciated.
Answer: You’d do g(x) first then put that in for the x in f(x).
So, y = √(7x + b)
and when x=4, y=6 so 6 = √(7•4 + b)
square both sides: 36 = 28 + b
so b = 36 – 28 = 8

Quadratic Formula
Here we will discuss the famous math quadratic formula for Solving Quadratic Equations. The quadratic formula is very useful and using the quadratic formula is probably the easiest way to solve any quadratic equations as we shall demonstrate soon. The quadratic formula allows you to solve any quadratic equations in the following form.
How to solve Quadratic equations?
Quadratic equations are presented in the form:

In another word, a, x squared, plus, b x, plus c equals zero AND a is not equal to zero where:
-
a is the coefficient of x squared,
-
b is the coefficient of x and
-
c is a constant.
Any quadratic equations can be re arranged into this form. Once we have the quadratic equation in this form, the quadratic formula for calculating x is given by the following.
Quadratic formula

Since any quadratic equations has two solutions, x is given by:
- negative b plus the square root of b squared minus 4 times a times c all divided by 2 times a, and
- negative b minus the square root of b squared minus 4 times a times c all divided by 2 times a.
Now you can solve any quadratic equations. But, just to make sure that you can, we are going to do an example of how to solve a quadratic equation. Let’s solve a simple quadratic equation below.
Example of solving quadratic equation

Now we can re arrange to equation so that it is in the form a, x squared, plus b x, plus c as follows:

Now you can see that a = 1, b = -1 and c = -6.

So, plugging a, b, and c into the quadratic formula, we have:

In another word, x is either 3 or -2. That’s it. Now you know how to solve a quadratic equation.
