Help With Math Sequences

help with math sequences
Question: I need Help With Math Homework: Number sequences?

I tend to think to hard and math isn’t my best subject
im stuck on some stupid math sequence and i can’t figure it out
some of them are ones with letters!
i know the last one has something to do with the periodic table of elements
my teacher is weird
here is what i need help with

“Find a pattern for each sequence. Use the pattern to find the next 2 terms.”

1,3,7,15,31,_,_

M,V,E,M,_,_,

H,He,Li,Be,_,_

please help!
i will pick a best answer
thanks!

Answer: Well I’m thinking..
(I could be wrong maths isn’t my best subject either lol)

1, 3, 7, 15, 31
I think the next 2 numbers are 63 and 127 because..
the difference between 1 and 3 is ‘2′, the difference between 3 and 7 is ‘4′, the difference between 7 and 15 is ‘8′, and the difference between 15 and 31 is ‘16′.
Look at the difference numbers:
2, 4, 8, 16.
Notice a pattern? They double as they go along =)
So.. if we times 16 by 2 we get 32. Now we can add 32 to 31 and get 63. But now we need the 2nd number. The difference between 63 and 31 (which we’ve just worked out) is 32. Lets double that:
32 x 2 = 64
Lets add 64 to 63: 127 =)
Sorry I explained that really badly hope you can understand! Try drawing it out if necessary :-)
I have no idea about number 2, but for number 3….
the periodic consists of elements, lets look at the first 4:
H (hydrogen), He (helium), Li (lithium), and Be (beryllium).
And they’re your numbers! So you need to work out the next two elements in the periodic table, which are B (boron) and C (carbon).
Make sure you understand, incase your teacher asks you :)
Sorry about number 2, it sounds really weird!

Math Help Completing The Square

math help completing the square
Question: i really need to know how to do this simple math using completing the square?

please help me !!!

4x^2 – 9

and this question

2x^2+ 3

Answer: 4x squared minus 9 factors into two binomials, (2x + 3) and (2x-3). To check this answer, do FOIL method and you get 4x squared minus 6x plus 6x minus 9 = 4x squared minus 9, right where you started, so this one is correct. See if you can do the next one!
